THE WHY
The people who live and work in Malaga are what makes it.
Yes it is an almost uniquely historic city with 3000 years behind it but what keeps it alive are the businesses which have been in the same family for, sometimes, centuries.
To really understand and fall in love (we hope!) with the culture and essence of somewhere you need to immerse yourself in it, and what better way than in the local food and drink?
The Food Experience has the people of Malaga at its core. What this means is that we skip the chains and take you to the heart of the city. We know you’ll love discovering things like the more traditional delicatessen where you get to meet the great grandson of the founder as he hand cuts a morsel of delicious acorn fed ham.
OUR STORY
When founder Hanni packed up her Corporate Exec job in the UK and headed south to Spain’s sunny coast, she couldn’t wait to immerse herself in Malaga life.
Food has always been a passion, her Grandmother was a Baker, and her Mother a Chef, so discovering the best dishes and the people behind them was soon how she was to be found whiling away her days.
What struck Hanni most, apart from how delicious the food is, was how important food is to the people here – not just as a source of sustenance, but as a way of life.
Every occasion is celebrated with and around food. The Malagueños (people of Malaga) can easily while away entire days as lunch blends in to sundowners that blend into a raucous evening of tapas and traditional sweet wines.
Naturally, Hanni began to share her love of her new city with friends and family visiting her, and hence the Food Experience was born – how could she keep this magic to herself?
Now Hanni is joined by a small team of equally passionate native-English speaking guides, who guarantee you a food tour experience you’ll never forget.
